永恒沉睡,原名十分冗长，常简称作Sopor Aeternus。成员只有一人：Anna-Varney(原名Varney)，一个有异性倾向的哲学思想家，他的音乐中蕴含了浓浓的阴郁，绝望，以及黑暗。

SA属于暗潮（Dark-wave），这类音乐起源于一个音乐运动，至于百度一类上标注的暗潮金属，我只想说基本是扯淡。

暗潮音乐是对“阴暗乐”这种时期潮流思想的总称——当时，随着这类音乐的发展，不好归类于朋克（Punk），也不好归类于新浪潮（New-wave），只好自成一派，干脆叫暗潮好了——所以暗潮没有太大的严格划分标准和划分意义。

本曲，Varney使用了大量的管乐伴奏，小提琴拉出的主旋律庄重、辉煌、神秘，弦乐团湍急的拉着沉重的四分音符，隐约从黑暗中照出死亡的永恒。

本曲是一首为向爱伦坡致敬而谱写的，原诗主旨便是“死亡才是永恒”。

公认台上悲剧名唤“人生”，
And it′s hero is the Conqueror Worm.
主角便是“毒蛊霸王”

The Conqueror Worm"是Edgar Allan Poe在1843年的作品, 它描写一场戏剧的表演. 这是一场叫做"人"的悲剧, 观众就是天使. 演员转圈跑的时候,出现了一个爬行的东西. 它就是这场剧的英雄: 蛆虫. 它吃掉了那些演员, 然后幕布落下.死亡, 用蛆虫来表示, 就是人类戏剧的英雄. 所有的生命都会死亡, 因此都没有意义.
